What was the name of that baseball batting ‘machine’ that was sort of tied to a tree?

When the batter hit the ball, the ball would swing around the tree and then swing back again towards the batter so he/she could hit the ball again. You could practice hitting the ball like that forever and you wouldn't need someone to throw the ball. Does anyone remember what it was called or where I can order it?

Salaries fluctuate because of management's stupidity. One or two or even several seasons of good performance does not guarantee even one more good season. Players get older and their skills usually diminish as a consequence. Anyone, who risks big money plus a long multiyear contract on an older pitcher, had better buy insurance to back up their usually thrown away money.
Batting averages change with every charged at bat. If the batter hits, the batting average will go up. If the batter makes an out, the average will go down. Put very simply, you can ascertain batting average by dividing the hits by at bats. For example 100 hits divided by 300 at bats = .333 batting average.

How big are the decals on Major League Baseball batting helmets?

I am looking to make/buy decals for my team's batting helmets, how large should the decals be? I was thinking 1.5" or 2" in diameter.

id go with 2 inches, or maybe even 2 1/2

they are bigger than they look. if anything, you want them to be too big rather than too small

Okay to use a youth baseball bat in batting cage?

Plan on hitting the batting cages. Going to try both the medium speed and fast speed pitches. I have a youth 32/18.5 bat. Is the bat going to be okay for those type of speeds? Or should I stick with an adult -3 bat?

Use a bat that is similar in length and weight as the bat you will use in a game. A couple of oz. more is ok, but try not to use a lighter bat.

I NEVER use my game bat in a cage. I don't think anyone should use a game bat in a cage that does not throw leather baseballs.

My Mizuno Vintage Pro G2 batting gloves ripped yesterday and I need to find one that is more durable because I swing almost everyday, either soft toss or off the machine, or a tee.
I've had Nike Diamond Elite VI, but they ripped when I slid head first into second base.
I need to find a durable batting glove for maybe $20-$35.

i use franklin. thats all ive ever used and they last me quite a while. i no their cheap. but they work

What is the difference between a baseball batting glove and a golf glove?

Because I have a batting glove and want to use it for golf.

Baseball Batting gloves are made of a lot thicker hide. They are for better grip on the bat and to whisk away the sweat. Hitters will use stuff like pine tar on their hands to better the grip. If they use gloves the tar stays with the glove and won't hamper defense play in the field. Can you imagine trying to throw a ball with a tar laced hand ?
Golf gloves are for feel and to whisk away sweat. Golfers don't use sticky stuff. We can change our grip material for better traction but mostly comes from the glove.
When I caught behind the plate in college I used a handball glove because of the extra padding.
THe bummer thing with gold gloves is that they wear out rather quickly in damp weather. So forget the glove and just get Corded Grips....

what would make the best baseball batting walk up music?

what would make the best music when you walk up to the plate for your at bat in baseball. i like rock more than rap but rap will work too i dont really care just sometin that gets you pumped up.

I always liked Back In Black by ACDC. Just hearing the beginning got me pumped up.
