I am playing high school baseball right now and am looking for a tee so I can work on my swing. Does anyone know of a quality batting tee preferably under $30.
a cone
They are nastyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
put them in the washing machine, but don't put them in the dryer or hang them up. wear them on your hands until they dry out, or they will shrink or get ruined and scrunched up.
I would like to know if there is a place for Baseball batting and pitching speed testing places in East Lansing, Michigan or nearby?
Within 10 miles is okay ~ Thanks...

I created a fantasy baseball league on Yahoo! and I chose a points only base. And for some reason, unlike last year, this league isn't recording batting average. It's not on the the list of stat catergories under Commissioner Tools.
If you're doing a points-based league, there is no way to have avg as a category. In a points-based league, each stat is worth a certain amount of points. (i.e. steals = 3, HR = 2, Win = 5)
You would have to use hits.
Because one of my favorite palyers presently does not appear among the top batters in the NL, even though he has a batting average of about .340-.350. I realize that he does not appear among the top batters in the league because he lost a bunch of games early in the season due to an injury and thus does not have enough at-bats this season. But he is now off of the DL and playing almost every day. That's why I ask "how many at-bats does a baseball player need to qualify for the batting crown.
he must have an avg. of 3.1 at bats for # of games his team has played. are you talking about brian mcann of the braves?
I'm doing a yahoo fantasy default baseball league. My batting average is 350 and I basically have a win locked and dont want to hurt my average. So If I bench all my hitters will it count against me in any way?
No, everything on your bench is nullified. Both good and bad.
The only reason bench numbers may ever come up is in the case of a tie breaker in the playoffs.
Baseball isn't at all mainstream in my country. In fact, it is almost existent. Can someone please tell me what "switch" means for batting in baseball? Thanks
Jon is correct.
A switch-hitter is a batter who can hit both left handed and right handed (although not necessarily equally well from both sides of the plate, but at least adequate for the major leagues from both sides).
A switch hitter will normally bat the "opposite" of the pitcher's throwing arm. If a pitcher is right handed, a switch hitter will usually bat left-handed against him. And vice versa. If a pitcher is left handed, a switch hitter will normally hit right handed against him.
The reason for batting the "opposite" of the pitcher's throwing style is because of the way certain pitches act when thrown. A right handed pitcher, when he throws a curve ball, will normally have the ball break down and away from a right handed batter... that same pitch is easier to hit for a left handed batter, because the pitch is not breaking away from him, it's breaking toward him. Therefore, a switch hitter will usually choose to hit left handed against a right handed pitcher.
Most switch hitters hit better from one side than the other. Some hit better from their "natural" side (i.e. they were born either left or right handed)...others have ended up hitting better as a lefty (even though they were natural right handers) because they face many more right handed pitchers, and the amount of practice they put in makes hitting left handed seem more "natural" to them.
Switch hitting developed as a means for a player to make himself available to play every day. Teams "platoon" a lot (this goes back to at least the 1920s), and a manager will often make his lineup based on whether the opposing pitcher is right or left handed. By developing the ability to switch hit, players were able to keep themselves in the lineup, because they could hit against both left and right handed pitchers.
I think this is a bad place to ask because I doubt anybody would lead you to any right answer. Best to ask a professional.
