Baseball batting?
What are some good batting drills I can do by myself(I have a hit away and DON'T say batting cages)
Also what are some common swing errors i.e. pulling your head up
I am a fastpitch coach, and I asked for tips to improve accuracy and speed. One baseball coach suggested letting the kids hit slightly deflated volleyballs. By the time they get back to baseballs their power has improved a lot. My sons baseball coach sits directly in front of him (one person on each side of the plate. The batter gets in his normal stance for batting, and you throw a ball up in front of him. He should hit the ball and immediately be ready for you to toss the next ball in front of him. This improves havd-eye coordination and also speed when hitting. Youll need about 15 balls for this drill.
Common swing errors include dropping your back elbow, spacing your feet too far apart or not far enough, and choking the bat too much. They should only hold the bat with the bottoms of their fingers and not their whole fists. That one is most critical, because a death grip prevents a full swing and also cuts your power in half. Have them practice holding the bat between their thunb and first finger and spinning it in a circle counter-clockwise with only a turn of the wrist. This keeps flexibility a priority and you can remind them to do it before a swing by saying "circle" or something similar when its their turn to bat. That reminds them to get the right grip right before a swing.

Swing errors are: pulling your head up, stepping out (not toward the pitcher), Swinging too hard.

get a batting tee or get the ball that has a string attached that will return to you or the one that will wrap around a tree or pole

Hit wiffle balls from a tee. Don’t drop your back elbow.
